0. The chair showed the Patent Policy slides and issued the call for patents. There were no responses at this time.

1. Agenda

As previously announced the purpose of the teleconference was to begin the process of resolving task group comments with the aim of making the face to face meeting during the IEEE 802 plenary in Bangkok as effective as possible.

2. P802.1E Task Group ballot results

A total of 16 ballot responses were received:

Approve 8 Disapprove 5 Abstain 5

8 sets of comments were received, a total of 164 comments in all.

The collected comments were uploaded to the 802.1 file server. An updated set of comments (with the header to the comment updated) are now at:

http://www.ieee802.org/1/files/private/802-e-drafts/d1/802E-d1-1-pdis1.pdf

This proposed disposition of comments is also available (login required) in the 802 Privecsg area on Mentor:

https://mentor.ieee.org/privecsg/documents

as

"802E-draft1.1 comments"

3. P802.1E ballot resolution

The process of resolving ballot comments will be recorded, as is normal 802.1 practice, using the MyBallot resolution tool (as used during the Sponsor Ballot phase) with periodic updates to the posted proposed disposition of comments. Successive proposed dispositions of comments will be posted in the 802.1 filing system and also in the 802 Privecsg area on Mentor.

A number of comments specifically addressed minor editorial errors, Since there might be technical changes to the text these might be overtaken by events, but should be checked to see if still applicable (or applicable in principle to new text) once technical issues were resolved.

The teleconference made a start on the comments, discussing the following:

-The use/requirement for both of the terms PII and PCI

-The desirability/practicality of adding clauses and annexes. There appeared to be consensus on continuing to recommend ("should") the use of an informative annex, though further work with Disapprove voters was needed to show how this would work out in practice. The suggestion of a clause in the document would be dropped.

4. Future Meetings

A further teleconference to continue comment resolution and to prepare for the Bangkok meeting has already been scheduled and announced for Tuesday October 23rd 9.00 Pacific. It would be helpful if all attendees could review the post collated ballot comments prior to that meeting.

802.1 Security Task Group discussion of P802E in Bangkok will begin Tuesday morning.
