RE: URGENT - We Need an Instantaneous Response. (That means DO IT NOW !!!)

Dawson,

It is up to the task forces to approve interim dates by 802.3 rules. I don't
have the minutes right now, but I thought we voted to approve the earlier
May dates at the last plenary. I'm very uncomfortable about shifting dates
without task force approval because the task force might not approve the
decision at the January meeting. Since we turned down a Labor Day week
opportunity last time it came up, it is a real possibility that the task
forces won't like this.

May will be a very critical meeting for 802.3ae because of balloting. Also,
having some of the rooms at a new hotel is a bit chancy.

Pat

Howard,

Thank you for the data.

Yes, the availability in Sacramento is the week beginning with Memorial Day.
May is not far away in terms of making reservations of this size. It was the
only week open in Sacramento from late May to early June. For those who
weren't aware, is this a showstopper?

Dawson,

I believe that the EFM study group will need 2.5 days for 150 people,
all together in one room, at a May, 2001 interim meeting in Sacramento.

Are the dates finalized? I for one would prefer to not clobber the
Memorial Day holiday with a standards meeting, and I believe that many
other members of the EFM SG would express the same opinion. I would much
prefer the preceeding week, commencing on may 21st. If that is unavailable,
I would prefer the week of may 7th.
