[802SEC] Fwd: Globalization Positioning and Strategy Paper

Your autograph is on this one and yet it says:

The second body, the IEEE Industry Standards and Technology Organization (IEEE-ISTO), was established as a separate legal entity to develop industry standards, specifications, technologies, marketing programs, testing operations, and more, at great savings to participating industry groups. From a global perspective, the IEEE-SA and the IEEE-ISTO together offer complementary services, one of the few totally comprehensive environments for today’s standards-related work.

Have you gone over to the dark side?
I continue to contend that these are specifications, not standards. I thought that was our position.

Hi Everyone:

Attached please find the IEEE Standards Association Globalization Program
Positioning and Strategy document which gives a brief history of the origin
and philosophy of the IEEE parent organization, the IEEE Standards
Association, and the Industry Standards and Technology Organization.  This
document explains the rationale for the formation of each organization in
relation to the services that each provides for the benefit of the
constituents that it serves.  The document also emphasizes IEEE's
commitment to share knowledge for the good of the global marketplace.

If you have any questions regarding the contents of the document, please
