RE: [802SEC] FW: grouper upgrade

Jim,

I think it is best if each chair takes care of his own reply to this
request.

Bob O'Hara, could oversee what is happening here, although I think each WG
chair will handle properly.

Subject: grouper upgrade

Hello,

You are receiving this message because you are an IEEE Standards Working
Group member, and have a login account on grouper.ieee.org. The server
will be upgraded later in May and the changes being made will affect your
account.

In order to keep the accounts on grouper, and to keep our records
current, it is important that you reply to this email. Please provide us
with your name, email address, telephone number, and the groups/projects
you are affiliated with. A reply will allow us the opportunity to remove
inactive accounts and give us your latest contact information. IF WE DO
NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE BY 11 May 2001 , YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE REMOVED.

The new grouper will ONLY allow ssh (secure shell) connections. Telnet
and ftp connections will NOT be allowed. We will be using OpenSSH. SSH
clients are widely available, both freeware and commercial clients for
different operating systems. Openssh supports both version 1 and version
2 of the ssh protocol. Openssh also supports sftp (secure-ftp) and scp
(secure-copy). GUI-type clients are also available for file transfer. For
information on OpenSSH and links to obtain clients, please check:
http://www.openssh.org/
For general information on ssh (including links to clients and
commercially supported versions), please visit:
http://www.employees.org/~satch/ssh/faq/
Recommended Windows and Mac clients (non-commercial) for interoperating
with OpenSSH are provided at:
http://www.openssh.org/windows.html
The commercial versions will also work fine and may provide some good gui
features.

You will receive an update on the status of the upgrade later in May.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your
cooperation.
