Re: [802SEC] +++EC Email Ballot+++ENDS 25 SEPT+++Motion to approveexpenditure for CD-ROM production

Title: RE: [802SEC] +++EC Email Ballot+++ENDS 25 SEPT+++Motion to approveexpenditure for CD-ROM production
Mat,

One observation, there are only 16 voting members on the EC, but it doesn't change the threshold of 9 for approval.

Folks,

Someone asked me how many vote are required for the current electronic ballot to pass.  I believe under our ‘new and improved’ rules we need a majority vote of all members of the EC with voting rights to pass an electronic ballot.  Majority means more than half!  So with 17 voting members you need 9 approve votes to pass.  I leave it to the chair to confirm this interpretation.  If anyone thinks I am in error, please let me know so we can resolve it.

Thanks,

Mat

I'm so confused about the rules that my head is spinning (I can't imagine how YOU feel!)

Anyway, how many votes would this need to pass? And if that number is achieved in fewer than 10 days, can it be declared as "passed" at that time? And who would/should do that (Roger or Paul?)

Just curious.

Thanks for doing the heavy lifting on the rules. (glad it's you and not me buddy!)
