Re: [802SEC] VeriLAN, projectors, and interims

I would vote to approve now, and would be happy to see it as a motion on the consent agenda.

Mat Sherman has agreed to second. Motion with typo corrected now reads:

Motion: Extend the existing arrangement for projectors at Interims to include any interims held between the November, 2011 802 Plenary and the March, 2012 802 Plenary.

Mover: Bob Heile
Second: Mat Sherman

All-

I have an immediate issue that I would like addressed at the Monday EC meeting. Paul has suggested I circulate a motion either for discussion at the meeting or inclusion on the consent agenda if it is non controversial enough.

By way of background---

We do not have a conclusion to the Verilan contract renewal at this point. This leaves the whole issue of projectors at interims up in the air. The way we have been operating until now is 802 has made projectors available for use at interims at no charge as part of our current arrangement. If that changes, then this adds a non trivial added cost burden to the interims. I need to go live, ASAP, with the registration for the January wireless interim but the projector status is unknown and this will affect the fees that need to be charged. I would like to get an extension of the current deal, at least for the upcoming January interims. That way, regardless of what happens on the network services contract, we are covered with a known situation. We can decide later whether we want to make that permanent in the event it is not part of the new agreement. My only concern for now is January.

Motion: Extend the existing arrangement for projectors at Interims to include any interims held between the November, 2012 802 Plenary and the March, 2012 802 Plenary.
