While preparing to send this document to our ITU-R Liaison I discovered that some of your edits are not appropriate. See the embedded notes.

I vote approve with the following editorial suggestions:

"1 Mbps" should be "1 Mb/s" according to SI-10 (three locations on page 5) This is the original ITU-R text, to which we are adding our edits. It would not be appropriate for us to change.

"IMC" on page 5 is used, but the acronym has not been previously expanded. This is the original ITU-R text, to which we are adding our edits. It would not be appropriate for us to change.

Page 6: "backhauling" is likely not a word. I would think "backhaul"

would be appropriate in this location. This is the original ITU-R text, to which we are adding our edits. It would not be appropriate for us to change.

Page 7: I think the reference for 802.15.7 should be:

IEEE Std 802.15.7-2011, IEEE Standard for Local and Metropolitan Area Networks--Part 15.7: Short-Range Wireless Optical Communication Using Visible Light

(also, no quotes around the title when referring to it earlier) This is the original ITU-R text, to which we are adding our edits. It would not be appropriate for us to change.

Page 7: Bibliography item [7] is a repeat of item [3]. I don't think you need both, so I would suggest deleting [7]. Deleted.

Dear EC Members:

It appears that I neglected to add this phrase: With this e-mail, I'd like to announce the start of the ballot.

Dear EC Members:

Last week at the IEEE 802 Wireless Interim in Daejeon, we approved a contribution to ITU-R towards a PRELIMINARY Draft New Report ITU-R SM.[Visible-Light]. It was created by Nikola Serafimovski, and edited (in great detail) by Roger Marks.

This needs to be voted by the EC and transmitted by May 30th. Please review. I would like to start the ballot this week.

Paul has delegated the conduct of the EC electronic ballot on the following motion to me.

MOTION: To approve, under the "Procedure for communication with

government bodies," the release to ITU-R Working Party 1A of the

content of the draft contribution in

<https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/17/18-17-0075-00.docx> and

<https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/17/18-17-0076-02.docx>

I am the mover, and Roger Marks has offered to second.
