Re: [802SEC] IEEE-SA Fellowship program at IEEE 802 plenary

Jodi-

I don't think the RAC has a formal meeting during the Chicago plenary
but we certainly have issues to discuss this time.
Ms. Umutoni, because of her experience and background in implementing a national numbering plan,
might well be interesting in sitting in on any get togethers we may have.
She might be particularly interested when registration issues get discussed at the EC.

Dear All:

Please note that both Caroline Koech and Ramy Fathy are no longer able to participate in the upcoming IEEE-SA Fellowship Program at IEEE 802.  Attached is an updated file with the Fellowship Program Participants' bios for your information.

Also attached is a revised schedule of the Fellowship Program schedule to be held during IEEE 802.

I have received confirmation from the following IEEE 802 Working Groups that they will have representation at the "Introduction to IEEE 802" session being held on Sunday, March 4th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, being held in the Logan Room, Lobby Level (attached is a draft agenda for this session):

IEEE 802.1 (Glenn Parsons)
IEEE 802.11 (Adrian Stephens)
IEEE 802.15 (Bob Heile)
IEEE 802.18 (Tentative - Rich Kennedy)
IEEE 802.24 (Ben Rolfe)

Please note that some of the participants have also indicated an interest in IEEE 802.19 and IEEE 802.22.  If anyone else is interested in attending this session, please let me know.

Lastly, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce Constance Weise (who is copied on this email), who is part of the IEEE-SA Fellowship Program Team.  Constance and I will be the key points of contact on site for the IEEE-SA Fellowship Program.

I look forward to seeing everyone in Chicago.

As in July 2017, these participants are policy makers/regulators.  The program will begin on Sunday, March 4th with an "Introduction to IEEE 802" from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.  At this session, the fellows will be asked to introduce themselves, including describing their role in their organization.  We will then give an overview of IEEE 802.

I would like to ask if each Working Group Chair (or their designee) could give a brief overview of your working group and current activities.  The time slot is a maximum of five minutes and, if you would like to use slides, a maximum of two slides (if you want to use slides).

All members of the EC are invited to attend this session, but if you do not have a defined role for this session, please do not feel that you are required to attend.  Please note that, as these participants are regulators/policy makers, no food or beverage will be served during this meeting.

Please confirm to Jodi if you (or your designee) will participate in this session.

Cheers,

Glenn.
