Re: [802SEC] +++10-day EC Motion+++ Approval of IEEE 802 Comments to Uganda TVWS consultation, due by 10 August

Ben

My comment wasn’t about the publication of 15.4.m – it was about the update of 15.4 with 15.4.m

Not sure "recently added" would be accurate as 802.15.4m was published in 2014.  But agree that we should not use our 802-speak in the comment, something like what John suggests is better.

Pont #1 is a question – and I agree that would be beyond editorial.

I approved already.

hi John,

your point #2, easy edit and I was wondering about the line myself.

for point #1, not sure if adding technical insight is crossing the editorial boundary or not, even if it doesn’t would need to work with the TAG and probably would have to start EC vote over. with that, we would miss the deadline we were given.  are you, or others, concerned enough for us to miss the deadline and see if they would still accept our comments late?

open for suggestions.

Jay

Two comments

  1. TVWS enables long distance connectivity to unserved and underserved areas. This is because these bands have a very good propagation characteristics.

Comment – this is very ambiguous – can we provide any technical insight – what reach is served?

  1. Also, IEEE 802.15.4m (now rolled into the IEEE 802.15.4 base standard) could be  considered.

Comment – I would suggest rewording this – as it is using standards “geek” talk that many will not get –

Perhaps something like – Also, IEEE 802.15.4 was recently revised to include IEEE 802.15.4m amendment.
