[802SEC] IEEE 802 EC - TPO Staff Attendance Update

Dear 802 Community,

On behalf of Sam Sciacca, IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Technical Program Operations  Senior Director:

We would like to advise the 802 community that IEEE-SA TPO staff will not be attending the upcoming plenary in Bangkok. While monitoring questions being asked by the LMSC Chair, Paul Nikolich, about staff attendance, Sam interpreted this as an indication that staff attendance at the plenary was not essential. This, together with the significant expenses associated with the travel plans and "red ink" that the IEEE-SA is expected to incur this year, Sam decided that no TPO staff will attend the upcoming plenary.

In an effort to support the 802 community from a remote location, WebEx sessions will be open Monday 12 November 2018 through Friday 16 November 2018 from 0700 to 0800 and 1900 to 2000 ET (New York Time). The WebEx links will be provided in a separate e-mail. IEEE TPO staff will continue to review and monitor e-mail traffic where possible, as this reflects the agreement that was reached with regards to the lack of on-site support at this plenary.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope everyone has a productive meeting.
