Dear EC members,

With this email I would like to announce the start of an LMSC (EC) ballot on two submissions to ITU-R Working Party 5A in response to the liaison for recommendation ITU-R M.1801-2. This is a continuation of prior submissions done over the past year or so.

Paul has delegated to me to conduct a LMSC (EC) 10-day electronic ballot on the motion below to approve the comments to the ITU-R Working Party 5A.  This EC motion is per IEEE 802 OM 7.2.1 Procedure, P&P 7.1 b) (majority response) and P&P 7.1.2 (2/3 approval of votes cast) for communication with government bodies and public statements.  With that we would like to see everyone respond.

Move to approve documents https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/22/18-22-0131-06-0000-proposed-modifications-to-itu-r-m-1450-5-for-wp5a-nov-2022.docx  and https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/22/18-22-0132-03-0000-proposed-ieee-802-s-views-on-annex-17-to-doc-5a-597-for-wp5a-nov-2022.docx, respectively, for submission to the ITU-R Working Party 5A via ITU-R liaison before the contribution deadline for the Working Party 5A’s next meeting, with editorial license granted to the 802.18 chair.
  • Approved in the RR-TAG: _9_ / _0_ / _0_ (The Chair did not vote)
Mover:     Edward Au
Seconder:  Dorothy Stanley

Start of ballot: 27 October 2022
Close of ballot: 5 November 2022

NOTE:  For 18-22/0131, Roger has a comment that it is very challenging to review the new materials with respect to the previous IEEE 802 submission to ITU-R Working Party 5A in March 2022.  In view of his response, I have prepared revision 6 of 18-22/0131 (https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/22/18-22-0131-06-0000-proposed-modifications-to-itu-r-m-1450-5-for-wp5a-nov-2022.docx) that you can find all the new materials by searching my inserted comments "For EC review: New edit with respect to the previous submission."
