I think Edgar Brown had another interesting
proposal, where the voltage actually has a relation to the power to be
delivered.
130W at 45V, 60W at 20V and so on. This
could mean that the current rating of the connector could be less than
5A, instead if the more than 10A at 12V when no relation exists.
Best regards,
Rene Koch

UPAMD updated goals and unapproved minutes
UPAMD,
Attached is the initial potential goals
document updated with the input received through the reflector. Please
check to make sure that your proposal(s) was included in some manner. If
it was not, I missed it, please try again. Some of the input, like
a symmetrical detachable cable, open up large range of usage, and flexibility,
at the cost of mostly(?) control software.
The unapproved minutes from the teleconference
meeting are also attached. Please provide feed-back on any missing/inaccurate
items. This duty will be turned over the Secretary at the next meeting.
Thank you Eugene.
I have moved most of the material sent
with respect to the European and US power standards into the private area
of the website. Username = P1823 Passwd = UPA4mobile. Please, PLEASE,
do not distribute the username/passwd beyond this working group as this
is where the drafts will be kept and they must be in a restricted access
area. Because of the nature of this group and the fact that we cannot
all be on a given call or in the same meeting room, I need to distribute
them in this manner.
Please respond to the email ballots.
