Re: UPAMD updated goals
We should probably change "a" to say that Life Expectancy != MBTF,
maybe by saying Life expectancy of standard or something. And on a
side note, I have a junk drawer of old power supplies that long
outlived the usefulness of what they powered. Some of them are > 10
year old now. I think thats one of the reasons that this standard is
important.
I think breaking up the power range for the connector defeats the
purpose of this standard. As it is we need 3 cables. MicroUSB for
<10W, UPAMD for 10-130, and the 3 prong ATX connector for 130+.
Maybe if people wanted 130+ after this becomes popular, we could add
an extension and new connector for that. For example, I can see that
becoming something people might want to add to a desktop computer as
an output for example to drive a high power display or printer, but
thats something for 1823a.
