Hello Anand:
Perhaps this should also be
discussed in the broader UPAMD group, as it is relevant to Connector and Power.
My 2 cents: What’s wrong with the standard
3-pin connector used by HP/Dell/Lenovo and others? It’s inexpensive and not
too big.

Subject: Re: Power Subgroup's First Meeting
Hi all,
I have a suggestion:
We can have one connector and one cable with multiple power line wires with
different "wire gauge" inside it.
If power requirement by the load is high we can switch the power delivery to
different wire altogether.
We may have (say) 2 to 5 gauges of power lines inside one connector.
The connector remains the same. Only power delivery line chosen (inside the
connector cable) changes.
The connector design will get slightly complicated as it has to accommodate
wires with different gauges.
The communication between UPAMD and load must ensure proper cable is chosen for
power delivery.
Kindly refer to WIRE Gauge Selection Table for choosing the appropriate gauges
of the wire.
