RE: DC servers

Title: Re: Your opinion is requested

Dear Liang,

I’m the chairman of ETSI EE/EE2 making the EN 300 132-3 standard revision about DC < 400V, and also vice rapporteur of this question in ITU-T (Q19 about 380Vdc)

I’m in good liaison on that with Dennis.

As you know, I’m also interested on your work on the low voltage DCplug for portable ICT (or more), because rapporteur of Q21 in ITU-T including the universal charger for mobile and its extension to other ICT device. The idea is also to make it in compliance between DC building in 400V and at room level for small ICT in voltage probably lower than 24V, and of course we do not specify any connector in ITU-T and would follow your standardization work. I would be happy to get your last draft if possible by mail.

Best regards

Didier

Dear Didier,

Were you involved with the 380vDC power standard for servers relating to the upcoming ETSI standards?

I seemed to recall seeing your name somewhere. Do you know of Dennis Symansky of US EPRI?

Dear UPAMD Working Group Members:

Bob Davis, chairperson of the UPAMD, and I request your feedback.  We subscribe to the values of the IEEE meeting rules and want to bring to your attention something about which we want to hear from you.  Our working group and its subgroups strive to ensure there are no conflicts of interest or even the appearance of such.
Green Plug introduced the Green Power Processor, high-performance, low-power, mixed-signal processor for PID feedback loop and PFC control that also offers digital communication with sinks.  Green Plug, like most of the members participating in the working group, intends to support the eventual UPAMD spec, but cannot commit to that until it is defined.
Because I am an employee of Green Plug, we want to ensure that no one feels my role as chairperson of the Power Subgroup represents a conflict of interest either as defined formally in the IEEE rules or even just in any member’s mind.  Please let us know how you feel.  Our goal is to make rapid progress on the successful standardization of UPAMD and we do not want anything to impede our progress.
Please let us know how you feel about this.  Thank you.
