Thank you very much. Yes, invitation letter is necessary. 2 month is
normal time for US embassy.
And it takes about 2-3 weeks for my company and ministry to issue
the documents to embassy.

Maybe an invitation letter from UPAMD will help accelerate this process? From my
prior experience to help obtain US visa for visitors from China, a letter is
normally suffice to shorten it to 2 month. Regards,

Meeting UPAMD, Proposed
UPAMD Face to Face meeting. The plan is
for a meeting lasting about 2 and a half days during the week of 23 January 2012
or 6 February 2012. The meeting would be held in the Silicon Valley
area. The purpose
of the meeting would be to thoroughly go through the draft and approve the major
component of the UPAMD draft. This would lead shortly to the working group
ballot of the UPAMD Draft to be forwarded to IEEE Sponsor Ballot.
To properly
plan this event, we need to know about how many could attend the meeting.
