UPAMD, At the upcoming meeting we will have a presentation by Ecova on UPAMD and the new California Energy Commission rules going into effect. This specifically will discuss the BCS (Battery Charging Systems) and EPS (External Power Supplies) and how they affect the UPAMD standard. It would appear that UPAMD crosses many of the pre-defined classes and conditions that we need to be aware of. How the CEC ruling will interact with the promised DOE potential rulings will be an issue. See UPAMD website private pages for the DOE material. This presentation will be made by Suzanne Porter and Dave Denkenberger of Ecova. If you have not voted on the removal of the “Restricted” bit to be replaced by an RFU (Reserved for Future Use) bit, please do so. Mute seems to be ahead on the replacement for “DUMB” device. Opinions still welcome. Universal Power Adapter for Mobile Devices (UPAMD) Working Group Start Time: 28 February 2012 5:00 P.M.
