RE: IEEE P1823 comments to DOE on notice of proposed rulemaking

Bob,

I enthusiastically endorse your draft letter and request that I be recorded as voting in favor. I will be in Raleigh NC on Monday evening, and while the meeting is after working hours I do not know if I will have Internet access. Worst case I will try to call in by cell phone.

Thanks.

Alex

Subject: IEEE P1823 comments to DOE on notice of proposed rulemaking

UPAMD Working Group,  Microprocessor Standards Committee.

The attached letter is the current draft of comments to the DOE in response to the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Battery Chargers and External Power Supplies. http://www1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/appliance_standards/residential/battery_external_nopr.html

The P1823 UPAMD project does not fall well into the classes currently proposed by the DOE.   The response period ends on the 25-29 of May, depending on the source.

To respond to this notice, the approval of the working group is needed as well as approval of the MSC per the procedures of both committees.

Comments on the draft of this letter are also sought to improve clarity and precision.

I will ask for a vote of the UPAMD Working Group at the teleconference and WebEx on 21 May, Next MONDAY.

I am asking the MSC to respond to me, with comments, and to George Riley, MSC Chair, with approval or disapproval.

All comments are welcome.  Sorry for the short time frame.

Respectfully;

Bob Davis

Chair UPAMD/P1823
