Second review of educational material in support of the approved changes to the IEEE-SA Patent Policy




All,

One hundred and thirty nine (139) comments were received on the previous version of education material documents - out thanks to those that supplied these comments. The Core Drafting Committee has considered all these comments and the following documents are the result of that comment response process. The comment responses are also available for review.

We are now seeking your input on the updated documents through the comment tool we used to develop the policies. A 7 day period is being provided for review with the comment period closing 11:59PM AOE Thursday 15th March 2007. After this comment period is complete, the core drafting committee will meet to develop responses, and revise the draft educational material as needed. These revised drafts will be the ones that will be considered at the IEEE-SA PatCom meeting the following week on Tuesday 20th March.

All comments concerning the above referenced drafts must be entered using the PatCom Commenting Tool and must include document name, page number and line number - please ONLY used the 'clean' version of the document for entering comment against. Only those comments duly recorded in the PatCom Commenting Tool and submitted as described below will be considered. As stated above the deadline for submission of comments is 11:59PM AOE Thursday 15th March 2007. Your output from the commenting tool needs to be e-mailed to me at [David_Law@3com.com].

Please note that this activity is separate from the ProCom Ad Hoc on Antitrust which I also hope to be able to give you an update on soon.
