Thank you very much for circulating draft minutes from the September 21, 2021 PatCom meeting.
Section 5.1 of these draft minutes is missing two key elements of the discussion, namely:
First, Chair Law opened this agenda item by reading a prepared statement that said:
“The call for comments was developed by the BOG in executive session and therefore PatCom cannot respond to any substantive comments.”
Second, responding to a question about his prepared-read statement appearing inconsistent with the unanimously approved March 2021 PatCom meeting minutes (https://standards.ieee.org/content/dam/ieee-standards/standards/web/governance/patcom/321patmins.pdf)
that read: “Chair Law noted that there are various paths for interested parties to use in order to provide input [including]:….“Discussions and contributions via the pp-dialog email list” In reply, Chair Law said PatCom has now received new and different instructions from the BOG The above is captured in my written notes from the meeting and, since there were nearly 70 other participants at the meeting, I assume others have captured the same. I therefore request that the draft minutes
please be amended to include the above or, at a minimum, to include the prepared statement as read by Chair Law.
