Gil, There is nothing clever about this FYI – it is NOT an input to PatCom on any of the options in the Solicitation, and it cannot be considered by PatCom in any way in this process. When a group of IEEE members

Thanks Ron. I will let others decide whether the distinction you are drawing is a bit too clever. One fact that they may wish to think about is the timing of the letter, which, coincidentally or not, was sent on the last day for input
to the IEEE-SA BoG through the commenting process that (wisely or not, others can decide) required the use of a particular Excel template. In the meantime, any of the signatories of the letter are free to identify their affiliations, and others are free to note the affiliations, to themselves or to this list. merely an FYI copy to the PP-Dialog subscribers. It was originally emailed directly to its intended addressees, who may consider it as they wish, without your help or interpretation. This was
not a response to the PatCom Solicitation for public comments and should not be considered or treated as such, nor was it a communication that requires affiliation information. As the letter indicates, it was sent on behalf of individuals simply
