The Sheraton Tysons is conveniently
located 10 miles from Dulles Airport and less than 20 minutes from
downtown Washington, D.C. The hotel is just one block from the new
subway Metro Silver Line “Spring Hill” Station.
Hotel does not
provided shuttle service to/from either Dulles or Reagan airports. Taxi
fare to/from airport is approximately US$30 Dulles (IAD); US$45 Reagan (DCA).
The hotel is also accessible from Reagan National Airport (DCA) by

October 20: Spouse/Companion Tour - Mount Vernon/Old Town
Alexandria/Arlington Cemetery
Spend the morning at Mount Vernon –
George Washington’s home, gardens and farm. Then visit the quaint
seaport town of Old Town Alexandria to see some of the most amazing
historic sites in Virginia. Step off the coach and visit Christ Church,
attended by George Washington and Robert E. Lee. You will also see
historic 17th and 18th century homes along the way to Arlington National
Cemetery, where you’ll board the lectured tram to the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier and view the unforgettable Changing of the Guard
ceremony. Witness the eternal flame that lights up the Kennedy
Gravesite. Take advantage of a number of photo opportunities along the
way. Lunch included.

October 20: Social Event -
Monuments by Moonlight with Champagne
and Desserts
Aboard a luxury motor coach, an
experienced tour guide will share fascinating facts on the city’s
illuminated monuments and landmarks as you enjoy sparkling champagne (or
cider, upon request) and delicious desserts. In this all encompassing
night tour of Washington D.C., you will pass such sights as the White
House, U.S. Capitol Building, Old Post Office Building, Washington
Monument, World War II and Jefferson Memorials, Smithsonian Museums and
the Tidal Basin. You will circle the Iwo Jima Memorial and then make a
stop at the Lincoln Memorial where you can enjoy the stunning views of
the National Mall and Potomac River. You will also be able to visit the
Vietnam and Korean War Memorials, which are just a short walk from the
Lincoln Memorial.
► Tuesday, October 21: Spouse/Companion Tour -
Smithsonian/Georgetown Food Tour
Spend the morning exploring the
Smithsonian. The Smithsonian is the world’s largest museum and
research complex, consisting of 19 museums and galleries, the National
Zoological Park and nine research facilities. On this tour, you will
spend time at either the Natural History Museum or American History
Museum. Next, on to Georgetown.
Experience a Georgetown Food Tour in the
heart of historic Georgetown. It will combine history, architecture and
culture with cuisine from some of the area’s best restaurants. The
result is a multiple hour dining experience that will expand and
challenge the palette with an array of flavors, tastes and textures. |
