Dear P1788 members, I vote Yes on both M0040 (Text of 1.7 and 1.8) and M0041 (text of clause 2). Since these two motions are for actual standard text, I am providing here some specific suggestions to take into account when the whole text of the standard is revised as one unit. I remember in IEEE 754-2008, we had several rounds of checking the whole text to clean it. I expect this for 1788 as well. 1. In the file 20121219Clauses1-2.pdf, the first sentence of section 2.2 is "The 754-2008 standard ...". Later the same section refers to that standard as IEEE-754-2008. In the second sentence of the same section, the text refers to P1788. Obviously all of these references to standards (including self-references) should be in a unified manner in the final text of the standard when we consider it as a whole. I think the editorial staff of IEEE will also check for such issues and change them if we do not. 2. In section 2.1, within the paragraph introducing Kaucher and modal intervals: After the text introduces proper and improper intervals of Kaucher, the following sentence starts by "In the latter, ..." On a first reading I thought that "latter" is "improper of Kaucher" but it is in fact a reference to modal. I suggest to change it to "In the modal IA, ...". Best regards -- Hossam A. H.
