[802.3_SPEP2P] AW: [EXTERNAL] [802.3_SPEP2P] Proposal for Downshift/Upshift for BASE-T1L

I fully support this proposal from Peter. This function should be mandatory to support the easy handling of such devices in the field and give the user an easy and comfortable handling.

Folks,

 

I’ve talked about downshift a few times before (May 2024: IEEE 802.3dg 100BASE-T1L: Downshift - part 2, May 2022: Downshift).

 

I now have a full proposal for text that I want to bring in for D2.0. I’ve attached a presention discussing the changes at a very high level. I’d like to have interested parties review my text ahead of time. Please contact me if you wouuld like to see the detailed proposal before Madrid.
