0. The chair showed the Patent Policy slides and issued the call for patents. There were no responses at this time.

1. Agenda

As previously announced the purpose of the teleconference was to continue the process of resolving P802E/D1.1 task group ballot comments with the aim of making the face to face meeting during the IEEE 802 plenary in Bangkok as effective as possible. The Bangkok agenda would also be discussed.

2. P802.1E Task Group ballot resolution

The P802E Editor, Jerome Henry, had prepared an updated proposed disposition of comments following the task group teleconference on 1st October. This was made available prior to this teleconference at:

http://www.ieee802.org/1/files/private/802-e-drafts/d1/802E-d1-1-pdis2.pdf

and on the Privecsg list on Mentor (sign in required) as:

1st Task Force 802E D1.1 review comments (19 October)

The output of 802.1 ballot resolution meetings is a succession of updated proposed dispositions of comments (i.e. as proposed by the editor) culminating in a final disposition of comments for that draft, and a further draft for ballot. Until the final stages of the ballot process (i.e. WG approval of text for Sponsor Ballot, and Sponsor Ballot resolution) it is up to editors to resolve (as best they can) inconsistencies in the document and input received, which may not be apparent during discussion.

[Post-meeting note: Jerome has produced a further disposition of comments taking into account the teleconference discussion. This is now available at:

http://www.ieee802.org/1/files/private/802-e-drafts/d1/802E-d1-1-pdis3.pdf

(also available in the 802 Privecsg area on Mentor)

This updated pdis will be our starting point in Bangkok.
Jerome has suggested that we begin with comments for
clause 9 (starting for example with 146-154), as they question they question both the spirit and the content of some of the clauses.]

3. A.O.B.

Noted in Bangkok agenda discussion that ISO/IEC FDIS ballot comments have also been received on IEEE Std 802.1AR-2018.

4. Future Meetings

802.1 Security Task Group discussion of P802E in Bangkok will on Monday afternoon and consider the ISO/IEC JTC1 FDIS ballot comments on IEEE Std 802.1AEcg-2018 and IEEE Std 802.1AR-2018, Discussion of P802E will begin on Tuesday morning after the conclusion of the 802.1 Maintenance Task Group meeting.
