[802-20-GENERAL:] 802.20 Update

802.20 Participants

The 802.20 draft standard is on the agenda for the June RevComm meeting.

During the May meeting the working group conducted ballot comment resolution for Recirculation 2. The working group at the meeting unanimously approved the ballot resolutions. As stated in the minutes, due to the lack of quorum, a 15 day working group ballot was conducted with the designated voters to affirm the comment resolution process.

The motion was:

Motion: “The WG affirms the 802.20 Sponsor Ballot comment resolution pertaining to 802.20 Draft 4.1m that occurred during the May 2008 Jacksonville session and contained in file Sponsor Ballot Resolution Jacksonville.zip. *

Motion Note: An affirmative vote on this motion does not imply agreement with all resolutions or an implied agreement to change a vote on the sponsor ballot.”

The Motion passed by a vote of 10/1/0 (Approve/Disapprove/Abstain) with 3 ballots not returned. The approval rate was 90.9 % and the return rate 78.6%

The UC-EC (Unconflicted Executive Committee) also conducted an e-mail ballot on the following motion:

Motion: UC-EC approves forwarding 802.20 draft 4.1 to RevComm.

The motion passed by a vote of 8/0/0 (Approve/Disapprove/Abstain) with 1 “Did not vote”.

As stated above, with the above results, the draft is scheduled for the June RevComm meeting.

I, on behalf of myself, Radhakrishna Canchi (the vice-cahir) and Arnie Greenspan (the previous chair), would like to thank all of you and all participants in the sponsor ballot pool for your cooperation and assistance in improving the standard through your active participation.

Best regards,

Mark Klerer
