RE: +++Ballot on 802.15 Press Release at IEEE-SA
Colleagues in the Executive Committee,
I vote heavily against the motion because of the following reasons:
The sentence:
Devices using the IEEE 802.15 WPAN and Bluetooth technology will provide
country-to-country usage for travelers. They will be able to be used in
cars, airplanes and boats.
still makes it appear as if 802.11
1. is not allowed to work in virtually all countries. In fact the members
and the fact
that 802.11 existed and wrote letters to many Administrations made the
spectrum
available for our type of devices on a general license.
2. can not work in cars, airplanes, boats etc. 802.11 is capable of working
on those
places.
Permitting the press release as it is out for ballot is a blow in the face
of LMSC.
