Subject: Solicitation for Positions on the IEEE Standards Association
Board of Governors

The IEEE Standards Association Nominations and Appointments Committee is
calling for candidates for the positions of IEEE-SA President-elect, and
members-at-large for the IEEE-SA Board of Governors (IEEE-SA BOG) to serve
in the year 2003.

The offices to be filled for the year 2003 are:

1) President-elect, who serves for 3 years:  as President Elect, President,
then Past-President.

2) Members-at-large, who serve for 2 years from Profiles 1, 4, 5, and 6.

Profile 1 -  Electrotechnical
Profile 4 -  Information Technology
Profile 5 - Antennas and propagation or broadcast technology or circuits
and systems or ultrasonics, ferroelectrics, and frequency industries
Profile 6 - Electromagnetic radiation or nuclear and plasma sciences or
medical technologies

The Nominations and Appointments Committee shall examine the industrial or
governmental experience, knowledge of and involvement in standards
development activities, and proven leadership in his or her profession of
candidates for IEEE-SA president-elect.  The candidates for president-elect
shall be Senior Members or higher of the IEEE, and members of the IEEE-SA.

All candidates shall have had recent experience within industry or
government.  "Recent" is defined as within three years of association with
industry or government as an employee, consultant, or another demonstrable
relationship that provides an understanding of the standards needs of
industry or government.

All candidates for member-at-large of the IEEE-SA BOG shall declare
themselves as representing one of the four  membership profiles given above
and in the IEEE-SA Operations Manual, section 5.4.3.   Candidates will then
run for that membership profile position on the IEEE-SA BOG.  If there are
less than two qualified nominations for a membership profile, the N&A
Committee will submit qualified candidates for such profiles without regard
to profile description.   Candidates must be IEEE and IEEE-SA members.
There are generally three meetings per year of the IEEE-SA Board of
Governors.  It is to be noted that travel expenses are not included as a
part of the IEEE-SA BOG membership.

A brief, one page summary of your qualifications, including a statement of
your willingness and ability to serve, should  be electronically submitted
