Re: [802SEC] Modification of Telecon schedule for EC

I agree with what Paul said. But if there are participants from North America, Europe/Mid-east and Asia, I think any time you pick will be an absurd hour for someone - that is the downside of teleconferences with a broad international participation. The best you can do is rotate the time to share the pain - but that has disadvantages too as people are better at remembering a consistant time.

Pat

BTW, the motion refers to the tasks in the document:
"Move to form an EC study group on TV white space per the tasks in
document 802.19-08/37r1, with Mat Sherman appointed as Study Group
Chair."

802.19-08/37r1 has a slide that lists the tasks the study group should accomplish which is what I read the motion as including. The meeting times were on another page so I think one can take the view that the motion wasn't setting meeting times. What you are bound by is our P&P on announcing meetings.

Mat,

I think if the ECSG can agree on alternate date/times for meetings that
make
better sense for the entire group, I would support it as long as at
least 30
days advanced notice was given before the changes took effect. I don't
think there would be any objections from the EC members.

Paul,

The First ECSG on TV Whitespace teleconference was very well attended.
This resulted in some issues with the number of ports on the
teleconference as you know. This will be addressed for the next
meeting.

A second issue was that the participants are literally from all over the
globe (India, Korea, Egypt, etc). At least one participant noted to me
that it was midnight local time for them when the teleconference began.

Here is my issue. When the EC approved the motion to form the study
group, the motion approved was:

"Move to form an EC study group on TV white space per the tasks in
document 802.19-08/37r1, with Mat Sherman appointed as Study Group
Chair."

The document referenced include the teleconference dates and times.
What flexibility does the study group have to modify the teleconference
times should it so desire?

Thanks,

Mat
