Re: [802SEC] LS - Architecture and Topology of IMT Networks

Hi Mike,

Thanks for sharing the liaison from ITU-R WP5D on the EC mailing list. I brought up the liaison in yesterday’s OmniRAN ECSG conference call, and there was good agreement that OmniRAN should be able to contribute to a response of IEEE 802 to ITU-R. We don’t have agreed specification text yet but good common understanding that we should be able to draft text for a couple of the sections of the response to ITU-R.

I will put the liaison on the OmniRAN ECSG agenda for Beijing, and in my understanding output of OmniRAN would go to 802.18 for consideration and inclusion into the response to ITU-T.

Mike, let us get in touch on the beginning of the week in Beijing to clarify how OmniRAN would be able to contribute to the response.

Bye

Max

Subject: [802SEC] FW: LS - Architecture and Topology of IMT Networks

Dear EC and RR-TAG,

Please find attached a liaison from ITU-R WP5D regarding the “Architecture and Topology of IMT Networks”.

I’ve received a correction that says this was meant for distribution to “3GPP, 3GPP2, ARIB, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI, IEEE, ITRI, TIA, TTA, TTC, WiMax Forum” rather than the longer list shown in the following email.

In the liaison ITU-R WP5D announces that they are “commencing development of a working document toward a preliminary draft new Report ITU R M.[IMT.ARCH], “Architecture and Topology of IMT Networks” and would appreciate to “receive proposals for content with specific guidance as to what text is proposed for what section, rather than receiving references to extensive standards publications”.

The deadline for contributions is 1600 hours UTC on 11 June 2014.

Best regards,

Mike
