No, we couldn't - because power sharing capabilities require appropriate messages.
So, we should not make requirement for any device being capable of being power source.
But, we HAVE to specify communication, every message in every possible situation.

I do not know specific medical roles. I'm only guessing...
Isolation is good, in every aspect and every domain. Not economic viable in every domain, though. But, if you buy one power adapter for 10 years, for every device you posses, you could pay some dollars more.
If you bring down leakage current, you are more eco-friendly :) (and pay less for electricity).
