Review of draft - Relationship of IEEE-SA Patent Policy/LoAs to Modification of IEEE Standards by other Standards Bodies

At the June 2007 PatCom meeting the item 'Relationship of IEEE-SA Patent
Policy/LoAs to Modification of IEEE Standards by other Standards Bodies'
was discussed and a first draft reviewed. This item is in regards to the
applicability of assurances when a standard is incorporated into another
organization's standard and the different manners this may occur -
incorporation of the entire standard in an unmodified manner -
incorporation of part or a standard or in a modified manner - adoptions of
the standard.
The PatCom core drafting committee was assigned the task to review and
revise the draft text. This task has been completed and the updated draft
is now being made available for review and comment.
All comments concerning the attached draft must be entered using the
PatCom Commenting Tool [

please select 'Guidelines' as the document type when entering your
comments. These comments will then be reviewed by the PatCom core drafting
committee, responded to, and updates made to the draft as required. If
substantive changes are made to the draft then it will be circulated again
for comment. The deadline for submission of comments is 11:59PM AOE Friday
August 3rd, 2007. Please email the output from your commenting tool to me
