SPECIAL
EDITION OF THE TRANSFORMER COLLECTION
Many of you remember the "C57 Collection
Survey" that we performed a few months ago. The results of that survey helped justify the need for new
publication of IEEE/ANSI standards related to transformers in one
compendium format. Many of
you own a copy of the C57 Collection in softback format (often called the
"telephone book").
IEEE Standards Association has agreed to publish
a Special Edition of the “Transformers Collection" in CD-ROM
format. This new special
edition will contain all transformer related documents currently approved for
publication, including the recently published C57.12.23
(1-ph UG xfmrs). The document
will only be published in the CD-ROM format; there are no plans to release
a soft-back format.
A
complete list of documents included in the Special Edition:

The
initial release prices of this edition will be US$440 (IEEE Members), and
US$550 (non-member). The document can be purchased on the IEEE
Standards web-site later next month. Postage fees will be added.
SPECIAL CONFERENCE PRICE!
We
will be promoting this publication at the next meeting of IEEE/PES
Transformers Committee (Oklahoma City, October 20-24) with special
"conference prices" of US$395 (IEEE members), and US$495
(non-member).
We will have a supply of the CDs available at the meeting.
You may purchase one, two, or several disks there (with no postage
& handling fees).
Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted (US bank issued
checks made out to "IEEE Standards Association").
Please bring proof of IEEE membership (current member card, etc.)
to receive the member price.
This reduced conference price will be available
ONLY to meeting attendees. A
form will be available at the meeting that will allow attendees to receive
the reduced price for up to thirty (30) days after the meeting. The form that states, "I attended the OKC Meeting",
can be completed and mailed to IEEE after the meeting. IEEE will process the form & payment and mail the
attendee a CD (postage and handling fees will be added).
We
hope this advance announcement will allow you enough time to make plans to
purchase this new publication at the upcoming Committee meeting.
Contact me if you have
questions about this special release.
