Sure, we can have further discussion about this. But I would like to also hear other people’s opinions on the SP1 when it is run in PM1.
Hi Bo,
Please add the following SPs to the agenda (updates to queued SPs indicated in
red):
PDT SPs (request sent previously):
PDT-SP1: Do you agree to incorporate the proposed draft text in document
11-25/2085r1 into the next version of the 11bp draft?
PDT-SP2: Do you agree to incorporate the proposed draft text in document 11-25/1357r10 into the next version of the 11bp draft?
Tech SPs:
SFD MAC SP Set #2 (in queue)
SP1 (updated)
- Do you agree to add the following text to the 11bp SFD?
- 802.11bp defines an AMP SP Advertisement frame (SP Advert frame for short) that an AMP AP transmits to advertise the AMP Service Period parameters.
-
The SP Advert frame shall be the only frame that carries the AMP Service Period parameters.
This frame replaces the Trigger frame in FM-8.
- Note: The AMP STAs that do not support service period operation do not need to decode this frame.
- Note: The AMP Service Period parameters are optionally present in the SP Advert frame.

SP2
- Do you agree to add the following text to the 11bp SFD?
- The AMP Service Period parameters includes SP ID, SP Start Time, SP Interval, and SP Minimum Wake Duration. The SP ID serves to uniquely identify the AMP Service Period. The SP Start Time
is the start time of the upcoming AMP Service Period. The SP Interval is the time interval between two subsequent service periods with the same SP ID.
- Note: The SP Minimum Wake Duration refers to the minimum wake up time defined in Motion #75 (MM-22).
- Note: The SP Interval is applicable to AMP STAs that can remember it.

SP3 (postpone to next 11bp telecon)
- Do you agree to add the following text to the 11bp SFD?
- The timing granularity of the AMP AP’s partial timestamp carried in a broadcast AMP frame is 64us. The broadcast AMP frame in MM-31 is the SP Advert frame.
[Reference: 11-25/0285r1, 11-25/0787r0, 11-25/1247r0, 11-25/1560r0, 11-25/1561r0]
SP4 (postpone to next 11bp telecon)
- Do you agree to add the following text to the 11bp SFD?
- The length of the AMP AP’s partial timestamp carried in the SP Advert frame is 24 bits.
[Reference: 11-25/0285r1, 11-25/0787r0, 11-25/1247r0, 11-25/1560r0, 11-25/1561r0]
SP5 (updated)
- Do you agree to amend MM-31 in the 11bp SFD as:
- An AMP AP may transmit the AMP AP's partial timestamp in
a broadcast AMP frame (name TBD) the
SP Advert frame. Length of the partial timestamp is TBD.
[Reference: 11-25/0285r1, 11-25/0787r0, 11-25/1247r0, 11-25/1560r0, 11-25/1561r0]
NEW SPs:
SP1
- Do you agree to add the following text to the 11bp SFD?
- The AMP DL frame soliciting UL shall indicate the channel number of the 20MHz channel in 2.4GHz for UL active transmission.
[Reference: 11-25/2037r0]
SP2
- Do you agree to add the following text to the 11bp SFD?
- IEEE 802.11bp defines the Operation Status field, to carry the transmission time that the non-AP AMP STA can sustain. The Operation Status field shall be carried in the UL frame transmitted
in response to a request for the Operation Status from the AMP AP, and may be carried in every UL frame otherwise.
- Note: The non-AP AMP STAs that cannot determine the transmission time it can sustain, are not required to respond to a request for Operation status from the AMP AP.
[Reference:
11-25/0788r0, 11-25/1243r0, 11-25/2038r0]
SP3
- Do you agree to add the following text to the 11bp SFD?
- IEEE 802.11bp defines an Operation Mode Factor field, to carry a fixed multiplicative factor of the reported transmission time, to indicate the time that the non-AP AMP STA can sustain
other modes of operation.
- Note: The Operation Mode Factor is meant as a one-time report for a given mode of operation.
- Note: Other modes of operation may include reception, channel sensing, idle, writing.
- Note: The Idle mode refers to a mode of operation with no RF activity, i.e. the non-AP AMP STA cannot transmit or receive any frames in this mode.
