[PP-DIALOG] Second draft of updated IEEE-SA Patent Policy Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) available

Dear pp-dialog members,

The second draft of the updated IEEE-SA Patent Policy Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) is now available for public review and comment. The draft can be accessed from:

http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog/drafts_comments/index.html

The comment period will open today, and will close at 23:59 Anywhere on Earth (AOE) <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anywhere_on_Earth> on 21st November 2014. This draft has been revised to reflect the first round of comments.

Please comment only on changed text as shown in draft 11 of the FAQs or text directly affected by a change. Comments on the draft policy or on unchanged parts of the FAQs are out of scope. Please clearly state your comment and a proposed change in the text that would resolve your comment. Your comment and remedy should be understandable when standing alone from your other comments.

Please submit your comments based on the 'redline' version of the current draft and reference line numbers from that redline version. Please note that this is a change from instructions on previous commenting rounds, which requested comments on the clean version. This redline version is compared to the 10th October 2014 draft FAQs and is available from:

http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog/drafts_comments/Patent_Policy_FAQ_111114_redline.pdf

Please comment ONLY on this draft.

To assist in your review, a clean version and a redline version against the FAQs posted on the PatCom website are available from:

http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog/drafts_comments/Patent_Policy_FAQ_111114_clean.pdf
http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog/drafts_comments/Patent_Policy_FAQ_111114_redline_to_current.pdf

Please DO NOT comment on these drafts.

The draft patent policy and the draft LoA form are available from:

http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog/drafts_comments/index.html

Please use the PatCom FAQ comment entry spreadsheet for the submission of comments in order for your comments to be considered in a systematic manner. This spreadsheet is available from:

http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog/comment-tool/index.html

(Note: please do not use any previous version of this spreadsheet, because it has been modified.) We will not be able to consider edited copies of the document. For each comment you submit, please provide the FAQ number and the starting line number to which your comment relates. Please do not use the format '4-5' for line numbers; if you wish to reference a span of lines, please do so in the comment itself.

Once again, please note:

- Use the redline version of the FAQs and reference line numbers in the redline version;
- Comment only on the changed text or text directly affected by a change;
- Comments on the policy or unchanged parts of the FAQs are out of scope;
- Use only the new comment spreadsheet.

Best regards,
  David Law
