Yes. Actually, this is not really so relevant to our discussion,
but it is an intellectual curiosity. The Google results are an artifact of
not putting the phrase in quotation marks -- "unit" and "position"
are both common words, but "position" is probably a more common
word than "place". Also, one can imagine "unit in the last position"
to possibly have a military meaning.
