RE: IEEE p2030.1
My intention to propose the study group was for laptop computer (device with
battery) in the beginning. Originally, when I discussed with Bob about this
scope, we think that for other devices that are in the similar power range,
we may leave it to extension. In such way, we can have a short success and
then expand the scope gradually, instead of attacking a large problem and
drag the workgroup too long. We just finished the 754-2008 after 8 long
years...

Yeah. I think this may be going a bit far. More an issue for IEEE-1823b.
However, I think that UPAMD still should apply to all mid-power devices(not
just laptops) which I think will reduce waste further. If I never see
another Wall Wart with barrel connector it will be too soon.
